Tips for Writing a Perfect SEO Oriented Post

At this point everyone has already come to mind that updating content on our website is key to help your positioning. And also that we will write on subjects related to our activity that are at least, attractive and interesting for our readers. Very well, but we must have something more in mind, what? How are the search engine robots to act with our content and how it will affect our SEO. For this I always take into account the following points:

CHOOSE YOUR TITLE CAREFULLY

The title you choose will directly influence the achievement of your goals because it depends on whether or not you capture the attention, and whether or not people click on it. So try to make it clear, intriguing, interesting, suggestive … Give it a go, go.

And from the point of view of SEO try to contain one or more keywords. They will help you with tools like Google Trends or Adwords if you want to know which keywords are the most demanded.

USE IMAGES

Here I am sure that some will disagree with that of the seekers are “blind” to the images. Yes, but you can avoid it, that is why it is fundamental that the image is optimized. And … how do you optimize the image?

  1. Assign an ALT tag. The moment you do that, the image will already be visible to the search engines because with the tag you are telling the robot what the image contains. If you use WordPress you will see that uploading the image gives you the option to put the ALT tag. Most people leave it unfilled and that is a mistake. Use it! Write a small text that describes what the image is or related to the content you are writing about.
  2. The size of the image matters a lot. Do not upload an image that weighs 15MB or that measures much more than you really need because you are going to spend a lot of resources on your website.
  3. Change the name to your image. Do not use the default DC0001.jpg. If you are uploading a light travel backpack look for a name Backpack_light_flights.jpg or similar.

POST BODY

Here Google recommends writing posts of about 300 words, does not like very short posts, and has value. You can use resources that help with reading such as highlighting bold phrases, using lists with bullet points or numbers, calls to action, etc …

Add images to make it more attractive, but remember the ALT tag I mentioned above.

LINKS

Do not forget to add links in your posts, they are very important although you should not abuse and fill them. I would recommend putting one of each of these three types:

Link to another post on your website. Where you develop more what you are writing or has relationship for some reason. For example, if I were talking about using the mobile, I would now put this link to an existing content on my page.

Link to a product from your online store (in case you have it). Take the reader directly to where you can buy what you are talking about.

Link to another relevant web. Remember when you use them to check the “open content in a new window” option. We do not want our readers to leave our website.

USES LINKS ON NO FOLLOW

Using the rel = “nofollow” tag on a link is an indicator to the robot that that link does not want to be followed or punctuated. Google recommends that you put them in:

– Paid links – Google recommends to mark these links as nofollow so that it is clear that you do not want to manipulate the ranking of the web.

– “No guarantee” links – Content not trusted.

– The references to “bad examples” – if you want to make in your blog some reference of the sites or consciously highlight any type of web that the search engines do not like, mark it as nofollow link. I think this is a good summary of what I usually explain to my clients when they ask me how to write a good post from the SEO point of view.
